Elena S. Gorshina Educational program: “Biotechnology” About Biological faculty of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, biologist, Ph.D. (Biology), Associate Professor in specialty “Biotechnology (including bio nano technologies)”. Biotechnology is one of the most dynamically developing and promising areas of human activities. I came to biotechnology after graduation from the biological faculty of the Moscow State University. I worked in research institutes of the Ministry for Medical and Bio Industry, at biotechnological production, defended the thesis of a Ph.D. (Biology), published over 100 research works, received more than 10 patents. Gradually began to get involved in pedagogical work. I worked as a tutor at practical course and with graduation works, later began teaching at Department “Biotechnology”. Over time, I felt like changing the educational process, bringing it closer to what is really needed in the work of a biotechnologist. Since 2014 I have been in charge of the educational program. In the age of information technologies, it is insufficient to give students just an amount of knowledge. Today it is necessary to develop in students the ability to search for information, comprehend it logically, make use of it. And this requires finding the ways to remove problems, proceeding from the school, reconstruct the contents of educational programs, to marry the disciplines among themselves in a new way, to select the teachers, capable of using modern educational methods and technologies. And, of course, treat the project-based training as a serious matter, because it is this that allows a student to feel a connection between the knowledge received and the real work. The expert council of the leading employers helps us in this direction. Helping to overcome difficulties of the early period, finding an individual approach in a complicated situation – all these are the tasks of the Supervisor of Educational Program as well.
