Educational program: “Cryogen Equipment and Technologies”

Higher education in specialty “Refrigerating, Cryogenic Equipment and Air Conditioning”, Ph.D. (Engineering), Associate Professor at Department “Cryogenic Machinery named after Pyotr L. Kapitsa” of Moscow Polytechnic University.

After graduating in 2005 from the specialty course, I entered the post-graduate course and in 2009 successfully defended the Ph.D. thesis. 

During my work on the thesis I was deeply involved in solving the problems, facing the modern refrigerating equipment and the industry as a whole, and that is not just producing the cold, but also application of heat pumps, liquified natural gas and natural refrigerants.

I worked a few years as a Lecturer at Department, teaching the students various disciplines, which allowed to deepen my knowledge of the industry problems.

In 2015 I became Head of the educational program “Cryogen Equipment and Technologies”, for which curricula were developed, taking into account new requirements to training of engineering personnel, with application of the practice-oriented approach. The educational program focuses on the practical use of the knowledge received. The results of its application have soon shown themselves – in 2016 our student took the first place in the competitive selection to the enlarged National Team for the “WorldSkills Russia”.

For more than 10 years there is an acute shortage of staff in the industry, because the demand for specialists amounts to 2000 people a year, while Russian universities produce only 200 specialists.

The educational program is aimed at training engineering personnel for any enterprises, related to production and application of artificial cold. It is required at any production site, and this means extremely high demand for specialists and respective salary levels.
