Higher education in specialty “Machines and Apparatuses for Chemical Production”, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor at Department “Machinery and Technology for Polymer Materials”, scientific tutor of several post-graduate students, holder of patents, author of a considerable number of works, monographs, a textbook on machinery and apparatuses, member of the Expert Council of the Higher Attestation Commission.

After graduating from the Moscow Institute of Chemical Engineering (MIKhM), which now is a part of Moscow Poly, I worked all my life in the area of chemical engineering.

I was engaged in polymer packaging and designing of molds for manufacture of containers for reagents.

When manufacturing high-purity substances, stainless steel cannot be used: ions of iron and non-ferrous materials contaminate the resulting reagent. Therefore, equipment, made of fluoroplastic (F-4), is used, which I also developed. This is a polymer, completely inert to almost all media. It is used for production of protheses of internal human organs, like a prothesis of an artery.

My both theses are devoted to the issue of tightness of detachable joints, where the seals are made of prospective materials – F-4, thermally expanded  graphite and composites, based on them. I am still teaching post-graduates these themes today.

The direction “Technique and Technology of Polymeric Materials” constitutes the future of Russia, where the usage of polymers, nano polymers and composites is just beginning. An example of that is an aircraft body or a yacht, made of strong and light polymer composites, or a soldier’s uniform, impenetrable for bullets. Polymers have a huge potential also in medicine, construction and other areas.

We pass over our knowledge and experience to our students, teach them thinking in a technical way, developing ideas, analyzing and properly expressing their thoughts, in order to make them competent production workers, researchers or administrators.
