About Rashit Latypov has higher education in the specialty “Machines and Technology of Welding Production”, Dr.Eng., Professor, Full Member of the Academy of Sciences for Aviation and Aeronautics.

- A participant of industry and international exhibitions – has been awarded with a bronze medal of the Exhibition of Economic Achievements of the USSR, five medals of the All-Russian Exhibition Center, golden and silver medals of the International Exhibition “Metal Expo”, two diplomas of industry exhibitions for achievements in the field of welding and surfacing.

Professional experience:
- Locksmith, Engineer, Junior Researcher, Senior Researcher in the field of welding and surfacing.
- Head of Laboratory, Chief of the scientific-and-technical complex for introduction of technologies and equipment for restoration and strengthening of parts by means of welding, surfacing and gas-thermal spraying method.
- Associate Professor, Professor, Head of Department for Metallurgy of Welding processes.
- Dean of Faculty of technologies and equipment automation.
- Was a leader or a responsible executor in more than 45 research works, including those carried out with the All-Russian Institute of Aviation Materials, PU “Zapremrybflot”, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, PU “Udmurtneft”, PU “Tengizneftegaz”.
- Trained 2 Doctors of Technical Sciences, 3 Ph.D. (Engineering) and around 80 engineers and Bachelors.
- Participant of the editorial boards of the journals “Modern materials, technique and technologies” and “News of the South-Western State University”, is in the editorial board of the annual international scientific-and-technical conference “Modern automotive materials and technologies”.
- The area of scientific interests “Theory and practical implementation of the methods of welding, strengthening and renovation of the parts by means of welding, surfacing and related processes” is caused by the need for modernization of existing technologies and development of innovative equipment:
— for strengthening the parts of soil- and food-processing machines, renovation of worn out parts of automotive, tractor and other machinery; — for welding of dissimilar materials, for example, aluminum-steel, copper-aluminum, titanium-steel, composite materials and polymers. Such materials are increasingly used in machine-building, nuclear power industry, aviation and rocketry, and are replacing traditional materials. — in exploration of outer space, the welding will play an important role to erect various structures on near-Earth orbits, the Moon and other planets; — when exploring the depths of the World Ocean and construction of underwater oil- and gas pipelines; — for repairing orbital stations and underwater oil- and gas pipelines; — for welding, surfacing and cutting live fabrics. The research, conducted in this area, has shown that use of ultrasound and laser technology is promising.
Currently in the field of welding production the computer modeling develops actively, when related to designing of new equipment and forecasting of operational properties of welded structures. In the future the welding will keep developing, as a key technology for many branches in production, construction, transport, electronics and communications.
The Master educational program “Technology and Equipment for Welding Processes” was developed, taking into account the continuously increasing demand of industrial production for high-skilled specialists in welding engineering. It is aimed at training future researchers with a systemic thinking and capable of solving the tasks in a complex way.
Training is based on the project approach and supposes the work on urgent industrial tasks in cooperation with the leading industrial enterprises and industry institute. The graduates, who have accomplished the Master program, will get an opportunity of employment at the leading enterprises of the welding industry.
