In 1982 worked at the ZIL plant as metallurgical engineer. In 1986 defended dissertation “Technology, structure and properties of Fe-Cu-Gr-Pb alloys” and received the degree of Ph.D. (Engineering). In 1992 became Associate Professor.

Started her work in Moscow Poly in 1982. Irina Kurbatova is Honored Employee of Higher Professional Education, Veteran of Labor, has medal "In honor of the 850th anniversary of Moscow" and medal "For participation in the All-Russian Population Census".

About educational programs: “Perspective Materials in Innovative Equipment”

Students will learn how to evaluate the behavior of materials under operating conditions, choose the right material and technology for its processing, obtain the necessary properties that ensure high reliability and durability of products. They will study the relationship between the structure and properties of materials, learn about the possibility of modifying properties by changing the structure in the process of various technological operations
