Students will receive a complex of knowledge on the existing varieties of shaping processes, the kinematics of their realization, the physical processes occurring during the processing of metals by cutting, as well as they will study design and geometry of the metal-cutting tools used for these processes.

They will also get the skills of selecting the cutting tool, its geometric and structural parameters, the material of the cutting part, in application to various machining operations by cutting, for the purpose of efficient operation in various production conditions. Students will be able to carry out the selection of the machine(s) for the implementation of the specific technological process of machining the workpiece.
